Scarlett Johansson Glittery Barrette July 24, 2008

This barrette is so beautiful and easy to replicate. 

Cut petals out of gold aluminum paper or any stiff gold metallic foil or flexible metal, even thick stiff card stock. 

Spray some petals with glue and then sprinkle with gold sparkles.

Attach using a hot glue gun to a plain gold barrette (find at any dollar store or discount store) making sure to hold down for a minute to ensure a lasting hold.

 Let dry completly.

You can use it as the focal point like Scarlett Johansson or as an accent to a beautiful hair style.

Celebrity Mom Make-Up Inspiration

In honor of all of the celebrity ladies that have had babies this year. Let’s take a look at some of their most amazing make-up looks.

Jennifer Lopez had twins earlier this year and taking the whole Idea of ying and yang she balances darkly rimmed eyes with a hot pink lip. She also lines the inner corners of the eyes with a white liner for a fresh appearance. To create stand-out cheek bones, she adds a darker bronzer underneath her cheek bone and then tops the cheek bone with a light pink with orange undertones highlighter.

Christina Aguilera looks amazing in a classic look. Bright red lips are the focus with light pink eyeshadow highlighting the full black eyelashes and liner. A barely there blush finishes the look.

Nicole Richie creates a dramatic look for the cover of her very dramatic book. Loads of lavender and dark purple eyeshadow(crease) cover the entire eye while black liquid eyeliner line the eyes and create a point at the outer corner. Extra false lashes are placed at the outer corners and then the lashes are curled and loaded up with layers of black mascara. To balance the look she pares with a barely there light pink lip.

Angelina Jolie shows of her beautiful eyes by dramatically lining them and meeting in a point at the outer corner which mimics a cat eye look. Barely there eyeshadow and nude lips highlight the eyes.

Halle Berry is a natural beauty that utilizes make-up to highlight that fact. Feathery eyelashes pared with a light brown shadow shows of her eyes. While a light blush highlights her gorgeous cheekbones. Her lips are lined with a pinkish lip liner and then filled in with a lighter lipstick.

Angelina Jolie Hair Inspiration July 23, 2008

This first picture is of Angelina with a natural sexy hair style. To replicate straighten hair and then put in hot rollers or curl with a large curling iron. Let curls cool and then brush through.

This fun up-do starts with the steps above but takes it to another level by pinning up in a loose style leaving a few pieces in front.

This takes the same elements but with more curl. Also teasing around the crown and then pinning back in an half-up do.  

If you have really short hair, this look can be for you. Using gel through dry hair create a piecy look.

Celebrity Make-Up Inspiration

Below is Scarlet Johansson with a cool rocker type look. She lines her water line with black eyeliner. Then applys a white liner underneath around the entire eye. Pink lipstick with shimmery gloss finishes the look.

Jessica Alba has the sex kitten look with smokey eyeshadow that creates a cat eye with loads of mascara and liner.

Gwen Stefani focuses on her ruby red lips and feathery eyelashes. She keeps the rest of her look nude to enhance those features.

7 Layer Bars July 22, 2008

These are so delicious. ’nuff said.

1/2    cup butter

1        cup graham cracker crumbs

1        cup chocolate chips

1        cup butterscotch chips

11/4  cups coconut

3/4    cup marshmellow fluff

3/4    cup walnuts

1        can (14oz) sweetened condensed milk

Preheat oven to 350. (325 if glass pan)

Mix graham crackers and butter together. Press into a baking pan pan to create a crust.

Sprinkle in layers, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, nuts, marshmellow fluff and top with coconut.

Pour condensed milk over all. Bake for 30 minutes. Let cool and cut in bars.

Puppy Chow Recipe June 10, 2008

In a large microwave safe bowl melt chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter for 2 minutes, stir and repeat until melted. Pour cereal into the mixture, folding gently for an even coat. Pour into a large paper bag and add half of the powdered sugar. Fold over top and shake. Add remaining powdered sugar and shake until coated evenly. Pour into large serving bowl and enjoy!!
